Up in Wester Ross (Glenelg & Kyle of Lochalsh) last weekend...in superb weather. On our travels we must have passed at least 6 old S2 & 3 landy's in back yards, baking in the heat. Only one was a runner (a restored S2a), but they all looked recoverable. Makes you think how many are still lying around sheds and back yards across the country, probably equivalent to hundreds at least. Old landy's never die ...they just wait until someone restores them.
 
i can think of about 7 i know of in fields and drives within 5 miles from me! there's so many out there.

mine was an abandoned driveway rescue. you only have to ask the question!
 
4 dormant ones visible in our village and the next. Presume more in barns etc. Must be thousands in total
 
Bet there won't be in 15 years time.

Split screen and bay campers were plentiful 20 years ago and now there is no such thing as a barn find in th uk. They are being imported from abroad for resto. Prices have gone stupid.

If I had a small holding I would be finding a dry barn for a couple. Better than any money you could make in the bank.
 
I'd do the same. If I the money I'd start a vintage landy business and buy them up as many as possible and churn out bespoke and or good quality restos. Quantity of spares and donor vehicles to keep costs down. Added to that JLR must have a mountain of spares
 
I can see one from my sitting room window (if i use binoculars !!!) i also know of two sat unused on farms not far from me

Up that neck of the woods they may be kept as emergency winter transport
 
there is five stuck round various places in the area surrounding fort william mainly series 3. There is also a series 3 109 armoured land rover just sitting by the side of the road has been there since i was 5.
