yep, bouncing along minding my own business, enjoying a drive without having to worry about not turning the wheel to far (wheel spacers just fitted) when 'bump'. didnt register untill a wheel that looked exactly like mine sped off ahead of me as i slowly ground to a hault!

So, not having had a lot of time to look at it yet and not knowing much about it when i do look, what am i likely to have hurt this time?

noticed a nice flat spot on the disk and im sure there used to be a shroud covering the disk? not any more!

any help appreciated. anythin im sure to have broken and where i can get it would be great

wheel studs and if there standard length Sean was selling them a while back

the wheel, spacers and all bolts seem perfect. its like all 5 inner bolts just came loose and fell off leaving the wheel and spacer together but not attached to my motor!

if the spacer wasn't a tight fit (like wheels without spigot rings) or the taper on nut/spacer not the same=problem.
pictures would allow better advice

ok so pics i can do. what is it exactly your looking for though so i can take pics of the right bits close up

hub, spacer so we can see what has occurred and areas of damage

cheers that would be great. if i put some on this thread tomorrow evening would you be able to have a look and give me an idea what you thing then? would do it tonight but im duty bound building the new cot and bouncer :D

Sure you'll get opinions if you put up pictures-**** taking as well.
Stick them up

opinions and **** taking, well it will be just like visiting family wont it. appreciate that ill pop some up tomorrow. really dont think i hurt much but its killing me not driving her now! spacers off and a new tyre tomorrow then get it friggin sorted.

i heard rumours of people putting wire around the threads on the inside of the spacer, u ever heard of that? could it work??

The factory fitted lock adjusters are for stopping the wheels rubbing on full lock. Much cheaper and reliable than spacers. But at least you now know why wheel spacers are not the best invention in the world. Offset wheels are the proper way to go.

If you were not going too fast there should be minimal damage but you may want to get a new pair of brake disks (they should always be fitted as a pair on each axle) or the vibration will be horendous. I'd also get the wheel tracking checked if it was a front wheel that came off.

honestly thats what i heard. cant see how it could work?
anyway im thinking new wheels and throw the spacers.
so..... 265/75 r16 insa special tracks on a 91' 110 200tdi. anyone got or know of any wheels that i can fit and be sure they will not scrub??

235 85 R16 best size IMO wind your stops in and get the max lock you can also worth a note is they do various offsets on modular rims get the most offset you can without it looking silly

also just because it 8j means nothing about offset thats just how wide the rim is and not how far from the face plate to the outside edge of the rim.

thanks jai landrover. i think im going to have to get the spacers on again and just get it running again for now, untill pennies allow for a more permanent fix. do you know of any way i could 'definatly' keep them on the landy! haha. i dont know what the metals are but even welding them in place would be better than how it is now, just waiting for them to fall off again!
