Hi all,
I'm having a bit of trouble locating an oil leak on a 300tdi Disco. The oil appears to be coming from the front of the engine below the cylinder head. It pools on the lip of the sump and drips onto the front axle. I've removed the sump and re-sealed so I don't think it's that. Not being an engine expert, though I do have some tech knowlege. Could it be the crank case gasket, if the 300tdi has such a thing? Cylinder head gasket was replaced about 6 months ago by a Landie garage so I don't think it's that (was leaking before then anyway, but only very slightly, and that appeared to have been the rocker cover gasket; which I've replaced. If anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear them. I hate trying to find oil leaks as a little oil goes a long way and never tracks from where it is leaking :mad2:

Many thanks

Paul

Diesel leak-off pipes, oil-cooler pipes especially the one next to the oil filter, engine cyclone breather and pipes have all caused minor oil leaks on mine in the past.

Thanks guys, I guess I'm guess going to replace pipes, gaskets one at a time and see which works.

Many thanks

Paul
