Dip stick and owners handbook.

hello

i'm asking for a mate who says its not in the handbook, as he lives miles away no able to have a look thru his book and mine dont cover the v6 models

anyone point me the the right direction????

cheers

i'm asking for a mate

why do they all say that ?

anyone point me the the right direction????

under the bonnet might be a good start. Top of dipstick is usually coloured YELLOW and oil filler cap will be on the top of the engine, probably also coloured YELLOW, with either the word "OIL" or an oil can symbol on it.

Good Luck.

If all else fails, download the RAVE cd, and all will be revealed. (The info isn't in haynes manual 3929 as that does not cover 2.5 Litre V6 petrol engine models). If you don't know how or where to download the RAVE cd, do a search on this forum. If you don't know how to do a search on this forum, you is out of luck bud !

Trying my best not to sound sarcastic or rude but my youngest has been able to check oil level on any motor since he was old enough to see over bonnet.... When they introduced questions like this to driving test I thought surely any fooker able to sign their name and tie their own laces would be able to check their own oil.....not often I'm wrong but obvious I was in assuming that.

1. press remote button to unlock drivers door
2. lift handle and open door
3. pull bonnet release catch

how simple you want it to be

hello

can any one tell me how to check oil level in a V6 and top up if needed

cheers

It will be 100% in the handbook

i will bet my left testicle on it (i prefer my right one as its bigger)

look in the index for lubrication or oil

if they still cant find it

engine warm
leave to stand on level ground for 5mins
open bonnet
pull out dipstick, wipe it and re insert
pull back out
if it is near or below min mark then add until just below max mark with semi synthetic 10w-40 oil

No.... I use oil in engine and transmission fluid in box

will willingly help anyone where I can .... and will often be slagged for doing so but personally think that if someone cant find a dipstick and check their own oil they should buy a bike.

Now left lace over right and make bunny rabbits ears:D
