I currently have a pancake air filter on my S3 but would like to fit it back with the Oil Bath Air Filter.
I have recently acquired the Oil Bath unit but have come across difficulty sourcing the 90degree metal fitting that connects hose to the carb.
The question I have is :
Is it required that this is a metal fitting or could I use a 90degree rubber (or similar) fitting??
I can see no real reason for it having to be metal but would be interested to seek guidance from the much more experienced Landy owners/restorers/mechanics on this site

Well, if you moving back towards original, I would say, source a metal one. A rubber one will do if its strong enough to prevent collapsing under suction pressure.

Elbows on eBay, search "series Landrover elbow"
Why can't I attach a screenshot? Permissions issue?

Ah, Thanks blue beasty, was having the same problem.:)
McBoon, you need the metal elbow as it's a tight fit when bonnet is closed.

I have managed to source and fit all the required parts and have completed the fitting of the Oil Bath Air Filter.
I have had to engineer a retaining fitting for the Oil Bath using steel wire and a turnbuckle fitting as the original retaining straps had been cut off.
I have pics but, for some reason, cannot upload them to this post, message saying that I do not have permission to carry out this operation.
If someone can let me know how I am able to upload pics I will do so.

I am having issues with uploading pics.
I thought I had copied and pasted the pics but they do not appear on my message on this thread.
Are others able to see the pics?

Nobody else can either. Some of the weirdos that have a GCE in computermibobs can but let’s face it, they never upload anything interesting :p
Eventually it may go back to how it was o_O eventually.

You need to open the picture in something else and then copy and past it into the forum reply box itself rather than trying to upload pictures properly.
Have a nice picture of my series as an example:

That's what I thought I had done but, alas, it did not work!!
I shall perhaps try again later ---- sneak up on the server and catch it by surprise ;););)
Thanks for the beautiful pic, 2 little beauts!!!

Right click on the image .... and "copy"
Move mouse to the message, right click and "paste"

Doesn't work any more ..... (on my Win10 desktop at least)
Yep, that's the problem I had.
I then resized the pics and carried out your 'copy and paste' instruction and --- hey presto--- it worked.
Thanks again @miktdish for your help to this old bufoon!!
