Remember I had the coolant issue which was fixed by mostest friendly local garage lads for a reasonable exchange of favours  (just pullin yer leg I paid hard cash!), well driving home on Wednesday didn't my luverly Gaylander just cough and die.

So now facing hard cash and favours to replace the dead fuel pump - this one could entail some serious work    !!

I do love driving it but this is problem no. 2 - three strikes and I might have to trade in for somefin else - any suggestions lads? Keep it clean!!

So you'll be going back to Uncle Andies motors then ? ;)

Are you sure its the fuel pump? A few peeps had fuelling issues before, turned out to be the fuel filter,

If you switch the engine off, then switch the ignition to position II so the ignition lights come on, you will hear the fuel pump priming for several seconds.

Both filter and pump are located under the rear seat, you could probably do it yourself. Think fuel pump is around £130.....dont quote me on that. Phone Hursts they are good for parts but not service.

Plus....... has the car been checked for obvious things, fuses, fuel cut off switch

issues ffs issues? the wurd is problems or even faults not fooking issues .. anyway dunt know if its relevent to the gaylander but another possiblity,IF it dies but restarts later, is a blocked tank vent. if this is the case wait till it dies then open yer fuel cap, if you hear a rush of air then yer tank vent is blocked, usually

Hmm well they check all the sparks and switches and the fuel pump is dead, not sending anything through at all, no life in er and yes it's with Uncle Andy's Northern Irelander. They tried Hursts and also a few other places for a recondititoned pump, problem is no-one has a spare to they've had to order it. Will be Monday before they can fit it so grounded in my luverly wee green space.

Is it turning over when you turn the key?

Dont order the pump until you are sure its the fault. Try the igntion at position II, you will hear the pump priming under the rear seat

Yes pump had power to it, and no pump action at all.

It's been replaced so got it back this pm. Seems to be a much happier hippo, feels lighter too for some reason (maybe that was the wadge out of my pocket  ).

Not hoping to visit Uncle Andy for some time now!
