Hi guys all excited and happy to have my p38 on the go. She wouldn't lock with remote last night so i locked her with the key. Then opened with the key ( it worked last night while i went for a mcds) now this morning. Opend with key as i had done key in ignition ALARM FAULT and then no crank ENGINE DISABLED. anyway used my eka and got fob working again. And battery was turning her over slowly so non start. Would a battery on its way ouy be doing this? What do i unplug on the rf reciver its got a plug with 3 wires and a single blue wire. Will it make any difference if i just leave it unlocked all the time? What do i do now?
 
The first thing to do would be to either deep charge your battery or change it for a new one. when my battery was on its way out last year i got all kinds of stupid faults as soon as it was changed all has been fine.

Before you start unplugging things change the battery...

If the key in ignition warning is on it won't lock with the fob, but after locking with key it should unlock with fob. Clean the little drop gate in the ignition lock.I use contact cleaner then blow out with airline a couple of times to free it up, then put some graphite lock lube in. Blue lead is one to disconnect if you think you have RF problems. Sounds like battery is on it's last legs, cold weather finds out weak batteries like nothing else.
 
It wasnt sayin ignition in wammers and the light on gear selection would go out. All handles shut. I had battery off when doing flrx plate so mabye lost code then. When its in park and running it says r on dash and reverse lights on mabye a problem or not? Another one is my fuel filler button is stuck solid wont move atall

Ok misread your first post. Get the battery, sync the key. See what you get. Weak battery maybe the cause of your woes.
 
New battery is on no more handbook sign on heater display and fired up a beauty disconnected rf blue wire lets see how she gets on
 
New battery came out this morning. Alarm fault came up is this mabye because front windows and sunroof not set? But 2heats of glowplugs and then cranking she fired into life. Few more niggles to sort with her but chuffed cheers folks

So, before you knacker your new battery, check that you have 14.2 volts at the battery with the engine at 2K rpm and replace the glowplugs, one or more are obviously shot if it needed 2 attempts.
 
Shes charging good just over 2k 14.2 to 14.3. New glowplugs orderd anyhoo (thats how my van died tip came off and through piston). And a diesel filter found mine is damp on the drain bung and sucking in air when i turn her off. New return pipes done as had a weap there too. New alternator belt and tenisor orderd too. No gearbox leaks no oil leaks gearbox hasnt lost any fluid somtimes she doesn't lock 100% over 52 so new box oil and got a filter coming for that. Gearbox light works now going into park and the dim with ignition off goes after 5mins so hopefully iv got a good one for a while

Stick a bottle of Lucas Transmission Fix in when you change the auto box oil.:)
 
Why did you disconnect aerial wire until you knew it was a problem?

So when its sold a new owner can hit the forums asking all kinds of questions to trouble shoot why something doesn't work, and loads of people can then say.. P38's load of trouble ! ;):rolleyes:
