Hey guys,

Looking to purchase a snorkel, more so to stop grit and crap getting to the turbo as looks as if the turbo fins have taken some damage in the past. I understand it’s unlikely I’m going to get a water tight seal using the wing on a 200tdi but it would be nice. Will be used off road

seen this on eBay pretty cheap, anyone have experience? Looks to be same design as a safari snorkel at fraction of the cost...but what’s the catch? Potentially same one bearmach sell under there own branding?

Not looking to spend £200 on a safari branded one which I’m guessing would give same results as a cheaper one?

Cheers

Looks ok to me.
You can make the system waterproof, you need to,
1, seal snorkel to the wing, then whens it all dry add a bead of decent silicone aound the outer edge where it meeets the wing.
2, remove the intake pipe at the wing end under the heater end and seal up the drain nipple
3, seal up the drain nipple on the air filter assy
4, seal the air filter lid itself, large o ring stretched does the job nicely

Be aware they
1, look cool
2, may reduce engine power at higher rpms due to restricted air flow.

It didn’t come with a seal so ended up going for the bearmach branded one which comes with a seal for between the wing and snorkel
