That looks amazing, so shiny. Was it worth the wait?
They have done a good job, especially considering the condition it was in.The guy said if he had known the amount of work involved he would not have taken it on. Now I can start to sort out a few other jobs like the whine coming from the back axle somewhere and tidy up the inside. I might change the wheels. Those Modular wheels haven't lasted, the paint is coming off them. I'm looking out for something better.

Did you sort out the vibration? Mine still has it at 65-70 and I can't work out what it is.

I have heard of lots of bodyshops who have refused to do land rovers, it looks good though.

I still have the vibration, sounds like yours. It goes in next week to have new rear half shafts, rear wheel bearings and new bearings throughout the diff. Hopefully that will sort out the whine coming from the rear. Then I can concentrate on the front. Seems there are quiet a few Defenders that have vibration problem. Hopefully it should be sorted for the next trip.

I'm still on the fence about whether to take my defender or the CX-5 on this trip. The vibration on mine isn't that bad, but is a constant worry. It has had new bearings and swivels and discs and it still hasn't sorted it. So I guess mine is either half shafts, diffs or gearbox.

Mine is going in to finally have the swivel hub grease leak and lack of power investigated in the next couple of weeks so I'll ask them if they have any ideas.

I've had this vibration problem for a while, even before I went on the Morocco trip. Crossing the Sahara didn't break it.

Hey, it is with much much sadness that we are going to have to pull out of this expedition :(

Sarah has started a new job, and there is an event in Barcelona for that week that she can't miss.

So, I guess we will catch you on the next one. I am definitely going to do one expedition or other at some point!

Ow bugga.
Oh well. We'll see what madness we can come up with next year.

Mr IFan, Kerm, Mikescuba and (possibly) Pillar, are you guys in, possibly in or unlikely? Only 8 weeks to go!
Cheers, Vince.

Sounds like a plan....we can sort this stuff once at the campsite.

What vehicles will you guys be in?
Err................Mitsubishi Delica. Unfortunately, Landrover don't make a 4wd van suitable for a camper conversion so it was a choice between the Delica or the hugely expensive VW synchro.
It does however share some qualities with my former 300 tdi Disco. It's simple, reliable and needed welding to get it through the MOT.
I assume that you will be in the silver TD5?

No..we'll be in the Defender....its got its hardtop on at the mo but we are thinking we may put its soft top back on...it will be summer after all & as organiser you will have arranged the guaranteed sunshine!! ;-)

We are pleased to announce that we are back in for this trip :D

Very pleased!

Now I just need to decide whether to take my CX-5 or the defender. Votes please! The defender doesn't have the best reliability record but the CX-5 is a bit of a car
