Hi and hello from a newbie!

I was up in orkney at the weekend and went over to the isle of hoy, about 15 mins on the ferry, only to find miles of old military roads to play on!

the orcadians are a very frendly lot and no one said a word to me about offroading, in fact a farmer asked what i thought of the shogun in the slippy stuff!

there are loads of places to offroad on the mainland of orkney as well but i only had the time to to T-W-A-T-T airfeild (i jest not) as there are loads of ex military places just left to the wind and rain!

well worth a look if you up that way, enjoy the pics!

sorry its not a land rover......next time i will take the RR :)

Glad you like the pics, the orkney isles are amazing for off roading,

As i said sorry the shogun was in the pics but i was not taking my brand new RR sport offroading! (mild stuff though it was) though i dare say it will be in the near future!

I thought you may be interested in a nice off-roading place even if i had the cheek to show the shogun!

f.y.i I have had 3 discos and two range rovers in the past,

I now have a brand new range rover sport diesel, i would have taken that to Orkney but as it was in getting its first service So i decided to take the shogun!

But as i seem to be annoying you i may as well show you my other car!

and worry not, the next time i find a GREAT OFF ROAD SITE, i wont post it here!

chill out V8 - its a landy forum - yu expect to get the **** taken if yu have a slitty - I autta know. :rolleyes:. Having sed that, yu get the **** taken irrespective - yu need a thick skin on here.

wot the piccy of a beetle doin on here - if yu gonna post piccies of furrin motors - heres a couple.

Looks great, nice to hear that the local were welcoming.

Ignore the stick we take the **** outta everyone. :D
 
yu wanna watch him, Sean - that looks a bit rocky and he aint got any underbody protection - he will, at least need a diff(erences) guard ;), and I think his recovery strap needs a bid of looking at..

yer right - that picture is just after he broke his rear diff and was sat waiting fer the AA to arrive

so the shogun has gone to a new home :)

and i was away in in for the weekend up north, found this great offroading place up in the western isles!! TOTALY FREE and SUPERB!!

why not come up up and give it a go??.............

the entire western isles is a "great off roading place"

or do you mean you managed to drive down the high st in portree without needing to be winched out in yer new pratmobile ?

The last RR sport I saw off road was at frickley offroad Pay and Play. but he was on the top field at the 4x4 market, Looked like some some tealeaf selling nicked alloys had 5 sets in his trailer.

Needless to say he didn't fare very well on the wet mud. So just to add to his embarrassment we sent a lad in a Fro***ra to tow him and his trailer off the field.:D :D
