Nope. The switch on the stick of the manual or on the centre console of the anto, is the HDC switch. HDC stands for Hill Decent Control, which is pretty self explanatory ;)
Traction Control or TC is fully automatic, it engages whenever the wheels start to rotate at different speeds. The TC system pulses the brakes of the spinning wheels to send more torque to the wheels with grip.

Where does it say in the manual that it can be used for going uphill, my manual says it can be left on whilst driving offroad but will only work when its needed ie going downhill in first or reverse with feet off the pedals. Hill decent won't help when going up a slippery slope, if you think about it Traction Control & Hill Decent function in a completely oposite way, HDC is trying to brake the wheels with the most grip so you can slow down & TC is trying to brake the wheels with the least grip & send the drive to the wheels with the most grip. If traction control cant get you up selecting HDC won't help.
