I picked up a set of muds the other day the ad said 265 75 16 so i thought they would go straight on mine as mine are a bit worn as mine are 225 75 16 i know they are a bit wider but when i got them home they were a couple of inches taller than mine i thought the 75 was the side wall height, on closer inspection the new tyres have 120/116 on the side whereas mine have 110/107 confused ?

The 75 is the aspect ratio ie height of the tyre as a % of the width

the 120/116 and 110/107 will be the load rating as a single wheel or a twin wheel the second number being lower due to the twin wheel setup needing to accommodate for the squash of the tyre and the sidewalls contacting that will cause blowouts.
have a look at the table here Tyre Load Rating | Blackcircles.com to see what the figures relate to in kgs
