Since all posts are about the problems with Hippo, I decided to post a POSITIVE post!

No issues. Since I "washed" the barrels, and the engine bay fuse box with top of the line contact cleaner,......there are NO problems (two weeks). There was F4 and amber HDC issue, and it went away! She is driving it every day (wife's ride), and all is good. She loves her Hippo, and it's here to stay.

Just so you know.

Yay, another Happy Hammer, woops sorry that was the weekend and we lost 3-1, Happy Hippo :)

I too am a Happy Hippo owner - apart from my VCU/IRD nightmare last year, its been almost boringly reliable. Although I do have some 'housekeeping' to do - such as emptying the fishtank so that it can fill up again :)

Ahh but any vehicle can be forgiven for dwelling in such a nice olive grove! ;) enjoy!

Is that a nuclear shelter up on the hill?

yep, enjoying the hippo after having the nightmare of replacing the heater matrix, dashboard and new carpet

now all put back together and just needs a good wash and shampoo

nice to hear people are enjoying there hippos in this lovely weather

Thank you Gentlemen.

The ranch is 140 acres, six of them flat with buildings, and the rest is the mountain. Trees are the mix of Olive, California Oak, and Eucalyptus. Property is surrounded by MILLIONS of acres owned by the government, that are accessible only on the horseback, or my KTM LC4.

The metal roof visible in the background is a 2000 sqf fully equipped machine shop, (no nuclear shelters!).

Hippo lives in one of the barns, and aside from getting dusty, he is very happy.

I DO read all the posts, and I'm collecting information on the future "problems". Or as I like to say,...."there are no problems, only solutions"! With the vast knowledge accumulated by the members of this forum, readily available, I am sure there are NO issues with these vehicles that can not be resolved in due time.

Wife peeks over my shoulder from time to time, and seeing the Hippo gallery on the forum, comes up with "wish lists" of accessories she wants (shopping for a bull bar, roof rack, etc.).

Thank you all for contributing to this forum, and providing the information needed to anyone that needs it. INVALUABLE!

Sounds idyllic :)

Sounds like a great place.

My old sales director took us on a tour of his ranch, just outside Austin Texas (lovely part of the world). Showed us his man-tree-house where him and his mates get together to drink (presumably bourbon) and play cards. Hanging from another tree near it was a deer feeder. Whilst playing cards, they could hear if a deer was feeding, and over his shoulder was a string, and on the other end of the string was a trigger, and on the other end of the trigger was a rifle aimed at the deer feeder!

Wife and I are BIG animal lovers (and hypocrites I guess!). I am an avid shooter/gun collector, but I don't kill animals (we eat meat though, hence "hypocrites"). We have feeders too. For deer, coyotes, bears, bobcats, and mountain lions (pumas). Sometimes it's hard to sleep at night. Two GSDs, and the Alaskan Malamute go nuts, when bears decide to do the raid on the trash cans. Feeders are way up the mountain (about a mile from the main house), and sometimes I forget to fill them up. Trash cans used to be in the wrought iron enclosure, but mama bear is VERY strong! A lot of welding/painting.

Mama bear is seldom alone, she usually has two or three little guys with her. One of the neighbors, about four miles to the West, shot their papa last year, and I was ****ed! I almost shot HIM. Fecking duche. I told him to go to the "sandbox" if he wants to be a "tough guy", and than brag about "the kill".

Now I leave the trash cans accessible, and all I have to do is pick up the trash that's around it, if the feeders up the mountain are empty.

could never shoot a bear , unless my life was in danger, shot a deer whilst in vt on my mates land and as i shot it made me clean it out and cut it up

he once told me a a mate bought a gun to protect him from bears, found out the bear came sniffing round this guys place, he went out with his new gun and shot the bear, trouble was it was a 38 and just ****ed the bear off and the guy ran whilst the bear started to rip the **** out of his house and had to call the cops

saw a brown bear in Boston zoo and u always know there big but **** almighty the paws are enough to make u **** ur pants, lol

think thats cruel though shooting a bear for the sake of it ,unless ur life is in danger my mate only culls the deer on his land or kills the vermin

met plenty of texans whilst in the usa and they shoot anything that moves

I've been to three wars my friend, and saw more blood than the L.A. gheto ER nurse (including my own). Did enough killing for several lifetimes,...no more. I bet these TX cowboys never had to dodge shots coming their way?

Like I said,....I am a hypocrite. My friends "up North" hunt deer and elk. I am VERY GOOD in processing the meat, and I love to eat it. I ALWAYS have 30-40 pounds of venison, and elk in my freezer. But I don't shoot them. I understand the ones that do, and I don't look down on them.

This fecker (that shot the papa bear) bragged in the local bar how he was waiting for several nights for it, and shot it to "see how it feels". After I was done with him, he had a new feeling to think about. Now he knows how a grown man feels, after he ****es himself.

oh man , take my hat off to u, working around the Bronx projects was bad enough, lol

know where ur coming from but agree it what ur saying about that idiot shooting the bear for no good reason

my mate in vt is very strict on what he shoots , not like that guy who thinks its funny to wait up and shot an animal

This is how I "shoot" them. With my phone.

I caught the little fella after he raided my trash cans. Mama ran away (chased by two GSDs), and she is SOOOO much faster than dogs, that I was not even worried. I was 5-6 yards from him when I took the pic, and he was hissing at me like a big cat. Once I tapped the mama on her butt (to get her attention), and only her butt was visible out of the dumpster, as she was digging for food. She came out of the dumpster, snorted at me, and casually strolled away. No danger. All they want is food, and trash cans are way more apealing than humans.

What arsehole can shoot something like this?

I've got a lot more pictures of the whole family, but they probably belong to a different forum.
