It appears after the EGR mod is done. I am told it can happen when releasing the throttle but mine only seemed to happen when shutting the engine down....... Don't expect to hear...quack, quack, quack mine was more like a 3-4 second fart!!!! It is something to do with the vacum hose (I think the pressure of blanking it at one end makes it leak at the other) Grayo Ponty is much more clued up than me. The fix is literally a 2 minute job. Trace the vacum hose all the way to the back of the engine where it joins the T piece with the round valve, cut an inch piece of hose (if u have some handy) then get a golf Tee or similar and poke it in your new piece of hose to make a blank then join to your vacum hose and T piece. Hope that all makes sense :0)

yes thanks I aim to clean up as well all the inlets because when I brought this on a 2006 td4 auto hse the previous owner had only done town work after a few good runs at top speed it got a bit better but still not right just need a nice day and I have a old bin which I am going to put it in to pressure wash it ,I dare not do it in the bath mind you it would be payback time , as we once went away for a month and the daughter was going away as well , we had an old roll top bath and the wife put all the house plants in with water so they would not die , we came back and the bath was scrapped as it was covered in lime on the bottom and we could not get it off not matter what we tried

Yeah keep it well away from the house!! I am not sure about your home but in mine we live by the rules, If she does something wrong "Ahhh...its ok, not the end of the world" ......If I do something wrong......"You better get out of my face"!!!! Simple rules really!!!!

That Roll top bath would be worth a few quid now!!
