hey everyone, iv been on reading everything for a while, seems great!

im just getting into landrovers, hoping to buy an early 110, and have been trying to get insurnace quotes but every where i go to dont seem to have a proper list of LRs at all.....

who does everyone use on hear?? im only 21 by the way!

nope, been there done that!! they could only insure me comercially -£1600!!

seemed a "liiiiittle" steep to me! any other suggestions, who does every one else use?

Hi Row. Best place in N.I. for insuring a land rover is the N.F.U..But as you are finding out insurance is far from cheap in N.I. until you have a track record. You would probably get cheaper insurance for a series vehicle,even so your age will go against you.
 
Bloody glad I don't live in NI - just checked with Moneysupermarket.com and lowest quote was £159 - and that's with it parked on the street overnight. Mind you, I'm old (35) and sensible (7 years NCD) and married... all of which helps.

A friends kid, 19, is paying £1,400 a year on a 1.4 Corsa over here - so perhaps £1,600 for a landy in NI isn't so far off the mark?

was in BLRC Saintfield today .Say you are a customer and you get 10% discount from Sureterm Direct Insurance Phone 08452020230 Fax08452020250. Young chap aged around 25 working there has a nice ex mod series 2 with them for 200 quid a year.
 
forgive my ignorrance...whats BLRC? Something Land Rover Club i guess?

Sounds like youll be on the road soon then. Should be able to buy Christmas presents with the money saved. Dont tell too many or they will all want a present. good luck------BB
