as per usual i forgot to start the video on the good runs,,,bummer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
far better with discs all round than drum brakes.and would solve the diff pan problem, but all down to dosh for a young lad, agree with defender, liquid metal is defo worth a shot,,think better tyres are on his list of prioryties,he did good getting back up the hill unaided ,with the size of ruts as far as he did though...callum.. discovery axle... did ya say ya could use disco axles...

liquid metal will work but he'll need to drain diff and refill with gunk or similar degreaser as it won't stick to any oily surfaces.
If you go back to Dalby forest. Be very careful about your route finding as a lot of the lanes have been TRO'd and FC are **** hot on getting peeps prosecuted for driving off piste. They really clamped down after Langdale closed and everyone was going there and driving all old routes. Langdale quest had a deal with FC. Once the company folded the lanes rteverted back to private roads and all vehicular rights (with exception of exsisting BOATS) were cancelled.
cheers for the advice on lanes,we used trailwise to see which were still open 1st..its something to be very carefull of and any advice like what you stated is very helpfull,cheers..
