Mixed views really, people are saying its a personal preference and that paras can give a harder ride? Also new standard leafs will be just as good for the series and that paras arn't always worth it.

Its true that standards can be much improved with regular greasing, esp from new but anyone that says paras give a harder ride is talking bollox.

Seems to be some debate about this......possibly but folk usually put paras on when their standard springs are flat and knackered

i like parras they are a bit softer and with the right shock absorber they are very good they are softer (i think) and they give better articulation and a better overall ride and as mentioned they do give a little lift as they are not as thick so you get a bit more axle clearence

I put a full set of parrots-bollocks (GB Springs Ltd) onto a 1959 SII, certainly lifted the vehicle even compared with not totally worn out semi-eliptical original ones, I didn't change the shockers, still undecided on that one - actually GB Springs didn't say it was neccessary, they did say don't fit polybushes. Outcome, hard ride - but it is a Land-Rover, but I think the main advantage is they are loose springs, not tight compressed leaves that get abrasive grit between 'em, and lubricating just makes more grit stick to 'em. Personal choice I guess.

How do you lubricate leaf springs ? Do you need to separate each leaf and what lubrication is used ?

Grease and petrol mixed works well, petrol helps to draw it between leafs and then evaporates
