Hi , just joined the forum as i'm looking to get a ( dare i say it ! ) freelander in the next few months ! looking at getting a mk 1 td4 facelift !!
Just trying to find out what the pitfall ( if any ) there are with this baby landy !

:welcome: ... if you use the search button you will find a 'couple' of threads about Gaylanders and their respective faults. You should find the Mk1 to be ultra reliable and to go on for years with no faults at all!

I'm handy with a spanner so doing things on it dos'nt bother me and if a spanner do'nt sort it i can always revert to a big hammer !! :D only thin that does bother me is checking the vcu !! bit difficult in a car showroom !!
 
yes ! i'v heard they can be taken off if theres a prob with the ird and / or the vcu , is that correct ? and thats when it starts getting expensive ! but if i get it from a car dealership , and things are wrong with it i'm covered by the sale of goods act for a cople of months !
