he bought an ultrasonic sensor for a 2001 mg zr(same part umber) plugged it in, locked the car, unlocked the car, still said alarm fault. superlocked the car, unlocked the car. alarm fault gone and as yet not came back

Good man.

Had you tried superlocking and unlocking before replacing the sensor? I think you can switch those sensors off or disable them.

Try a **** load of wd40 and/ or contact cleaner directly into the ignition barrel, has sorted mine many times. If changing the door lock didn't solve it, then prob not that, but ive sprayed that too at times and it's helped. Not a fan of moisture (or old cabling) our p38s.

I keep a passive dehumidifier in the car at all times!

OK GRRR you have me interested, what the hell is superlock.!!! Sounds like a 6ft bodyguard with an uzzi stood by the drivers door :D

Superlock is when you press the lock button on the fob twice. The first one locks it. The second time a lever in the actuator moves to one side so the lock is no longer connected to anything. Many people cut the wire to stop this happening as you're in real trouble should it throw a hissy fit in that state.

Great a couple of times iv hit the lock button twice as I wasn't sure if it had locked!!! Surprised with my luck that I have not been locked out. Will make sure this don't happen again :eek:
