Noisey Alternaor

My alternator was squeeking, so i sprayed it with WD-40, now its quiet. Someone told me about this befor, but i cant remember what they said. Does this mean the bearings are probaly shot?

Not always it could have been the brushes, if it does it again stick a hose to it and listen to see if its the front or rear, I guess when you squirtid it and it went away you might have noticed. If it worries you take the belt off and have a good feel at it and spin it to see how it sounds. You get that all the time and often it never does it again.
