Noise when engaging drive!

Hi all! I have had my Automatic V8 Disco for 3 years and when I put her into gear there is a thud/slap noise, which gets louder when hot. It's always done this. Is this normal? If not what can I do to rectify it?

No it's not normal. Although there's a clunk from the the transfer box when engaging reverse from drive.

check and grease all UJ's on the props as a starter,
