Hi needing a bit of help here just replaced the cables on my 2003 td4 window mechanism the motor works locks work if give them a direct feed but nothing happens if i press the lock switch in the console or the window switch / rear wipe wash also not working . I do not seem to have any power to the tailgate. If i disconnect the battery then reconnect the battery tailgate window goes down and that will be all it does nothing after that . Could it be the CCU or not as 1 door lock faulty locks on the other 3 ok and side door windows all work .Thanks

Was the console switches working okay before. Are you three door model or five with a cubby box and five switches. Five doors normally have the toggle switches the same as the doorcard version. The tailgate on the console the same. Sometimes they become knackered up or down. The rear wiper button top right of dash display and jet work off the fuse near your right knee. Another failure issue is the water bottle has two motors for front and rear.
As mentioned above to return the tailgate window use the ignition key in the tailgate lock until it fully up an stopped.

Hi thanks for the reply 5 door i haven't checked the switches as yet there even no power to the relevant fuses but as i said if i put a direct feed to the window motor the door latch it all works .
The 2 relays are showing power to the one pin but all the wires in the tailgate are showing no power with ignition on or off i am toying with the idea to wire 3 or 4 switches to each operation to work manualey what do you think cheers

Sorry forgot to mention interior lights and door open not going off when doors are closed or locked car had not been used since march 22 and standing

Then there's a door open switch faulty somewhere, which is telling the CCU that a door is open.
There should also be a quick blast from the horn when you lock the car, which also warns that something is still open.

I agree that if the dash door open lamp is lit, then 1 of the doors is showing as open to the CCU.

Im not sure if the back door being open will disable the window open/close operation. It could very well do to stop you raising the window fully before closing the door. If it does not inhibit window operations withe the door open, then you have a faulty window regulator also... ie a sensor in it.

As the window is not fully cllosed, this will inhibit operation of the rear wiper.

I do not think you have power distribution problems. Just a problem with the car thinking the door is open and possibly the window regulator as well. From threads on here, it appears advisable to replace the whole regulator rather than just the cable.

Thanks guys i do have problem with my C/L 2 of my doors do not lock of the remote i am waiting for a new lock for my n/s rear door and the drivers door locks on the key but does not work of the remote when i use the key it only unlocks the drivers door and nothing else so i know that is faulty. I will looking at another rear regulator motor next because when i open it with a direct feed the motor will keep going when the window bottoms and when it reaches the top but i can stop anywhere in between so the motor does seems a bit suspect cheers for your help again

The rear door being open according to the CCU, will prevent the window from moving.
However the door release switch should still trigger the lock to release, assuming the door switch is actually functional.

Hi i did a continuity test on the rear door and they both work i have no electric at all on the rear only the number plate light has power i thought there should be a live 12v somewhere around to be honest i am not to good on checking relays but i will check the wires for continuity and the switches on the dash cheers again guys

Hi

So the wipper doesn’t operate, the booth window doesn’t go up with the button and you can’t lock the car …

The rear wipper doesn’t operate if the Window is not fully closed, same for the booth door doesn’t lock, and there is no sensor for it to know where the window is.

Simply renitialize the rear window, and all will work again, rise the booth window by putting the key on the booth door intil it fully close and will have a confirmation bip …

For the key fob, you need to synchronise it with the car, long press on the lock button until it works

Hi i have done all that nothing happens key in the tailgate lock window does not move but if i put a direct 12v direct feed to the tailgate window motor it will go up reverse the feed window goes down , same with the tailgate door lock actuator direct 12v to the release solenoid under the latch the door will unlock and open .There is no 12v supply anywhere in the tail gate only from a direct feed bypassing the cars supply in reality i could remove the tailgate from the car and work everything on there.
my remote unlocks 2 doors i am waiting on a delivery on a drivers door and a passenger door locks . The window / the lock and the wipe / wash switches on the dash do nothing the fuses related to the tailgate are good no power to them either ignition on or off when the relevant switches are pressed cheers guys

If the booth window goes down when you disconnect the battery, so the booth window is working like it should, and it’s feeded by 12v. There is a relay just behind the rear right passenger door just in case you are looking for it.

The window will go up on if :
1) it’s correctly initialiazed
2) the booth door closed ( no door red light on the dashboard ).

Forget about the rear wipper, it will works once the window works, fix that before.

Restart the initialization procedure, disconnect the battery, it the windows doesn’t go up with the key ( keeping key turned right, I think ) it will take 5 to 10 seconds before start moving, if not keep the central button up until it goes fully up.

Hope it works

The clue is the 'door open' light is still on with doors shut.

If the tailgate is not seen as shut then nothing will work. Solve this, probably door lock mechanism, all else will work.

I do agree that the door open warning light when the doors are closed is one of if not the main reason for these problems as i have said i will have another look when my locks arrive to replace the 2 faulty ones and take it from there.
Is there a way to test the locks or bypass the door open signal to try find which one is faulty at all thanks again guys

Hi i have removed the tailgate window switch and the central locking switch out of the front console there is no 12v feed at either of them.
But i do have 12v on the 1st peg of the relays at the back the one on its own in the middle ( the one without a number) when you look at the relays from the rear of the car but nothing going out after testing the 3 banks of of wires going to the tailgate no 12v all so just found out i have no rear fog lights to me its al looking towards the ccu could i be rite cheers

Is the booth door latch working ? It opens with booth door handle ? Can you ear it, or it makes no lock/unlock sound at all ?

Hi i have done a continuity test on the handle and the key switch all working but no power also head lights on dip / no fog lights also no 12v to that switch either number 31 &15 fuses have power i have removed all the centre console so the switches can be checked connected or not am i rite in thinking there is a common source causing all these problems 1 no power at tailgate
2 no rear wash /wipe
3 no fog lights (rear)
4 no central locking
The problem with the interior lights not going of does point to my drivers door lock if i put my meter on the purple and white wire i get no reading of the door either locked or unlocked .but i do get a reading when i tested all the other doors no reading locked but a reading when unlocked
I have been a mechanic for 50 odd years but only know basic electrics so i am so sorry i keep asking all these questions
And i forgot to say the freelander had been standing since march with no mot so i got it cheap , irrelevant i know but just thought i would mention it thanks for all your help

Fog lights only work with the engine started.
Since the car sit for 6 months, did you had the battery changed ?
