TD4 Freelanders don't have a lambda sensor.

firstly...you said why would a diesel have a lamba...not td4 didnt....and i proved some do....secondly the firsy fl2 came out in 04...so as the post said 0o4 i was right in presuming it may be a fl2 and have a lambaFreelander 1 1996 to 2006. Freelander 2 2006 and on. No Lambda sensors on F1s.
That's a facelift FL1. I have an 06 TD4 2.0L BMW engine. There's no lambda sensor. The Fl2 has a 2.2L Ford Duratorq engine and didn't appear until 2007. That does have a pre-cat lambda sensor.

wammer stop being the p...k you constantly are on these threads you can be wrong its human..i just apologized for my error in fl2...you stated/ why would a diesel have a lamba you were with out doubt oblivious to the new diesel technology,,,i got the when it was introduced timing wrong...but fl2 does have them..now stop being knob and say;;;;;you didnt know diesels used lamba .....and ill send you a bicky and mug of cocoaLand rover seem to think the first F2 was 2006. I tend to believe them. Simply a 2004 Freelander TD4 diesel would not need a LAMBDA sensor hence, "Why would a diesel need a LAMBDA sensor" so the one it does not have would not be clogged up would it. When you have no idea it really is best to keep quiet.
yes i apologised for the error...maybe wammer can learn about being wrongFreelander 2 was first launched 2007 all the details are here in the link.

Aye start with the filter like the man above said.. Id say its the air flow meter.. Take it out and dry it spray some wd40 on it etc... Good luck with it anyway
is the great wammer ever going to admit when hes wrong...ive seen numerous times youve been corrected but come back with excuses...theres even members....The vehicle in question was a 2004 TD4 they do not have LAMBDA sensors. So your suggestion was ill informed. Get over it you have learned something.
In the context of the vehicle being discussed i was not wrong you were. Get over it.
Well spotted man.. Bloody wd40 in the brain so I am.. Cleaning up some old tools with it.. I had a vw that gave some airflow meter problems.. The wee wires in the plug for sensor had a habit of coming loose.. maybe the moisture caused a short in one of these? Worst case scenario is the short is on the car side of the wiring (socket) and even if you put in a new one it still wont work..Please under no circumstances spray the MAF sensor with WD40 it will kill it altogether if is as not already damaged these can not be repaired, WD40 will leave residue you need electrical contact cleaner, Servisol IPA 170 and this is only used to clean a MAF if it is just out of spec and even then it may only work for a short period time once damaged the way forward is to replace it with a new genuine bosch MAF. This my opinion of cause also a T4 diagnostics may help or a Hawkeye.
