I have problem with my lights on my TD5, I have no headlights, sidelights, tail lights or dash indicator for headlights. Full beam is working (but I know this comes from a different source.

I have diagnosed the problem as far as I can and replaced various parts but have now drawn a blank.

I checked all fuses, passenger compartment and under the drivers seat and all are ok.

I managed to get my lighting back temporarily by splicing a live feed to the red wire on the lighting switch (the actual sidelight/headlight switch, not the stalk). This gave me sidelights, tail lights, headlights and dash indicator on permanently.

I assumed the switch was faulty and replaced both the lighting switch and the light stalk assembly (as I know about the problem with the stalk melting around the blue wire) but the problem is still the same.

If I pull the head light fuses one at a time, with the temporary live feed connected, the left and right headlights go out as expected, so I assume the problem is the feed into the switch. However, the brown wire (which comes directly from the 30A fusible link) into the switch is live but if I remove my temporary live feed from the red wire at the switch, I have no lights.

I've completely drawn a blank on this. Can anyone help please.

MY 300 did the same yesterday morning. i think mine started with the feed for the dash lights going awol last week, then i lost all lights yesterday.
i ran a new fused supply to the stubby switch to get my lights back on, and then for some reason my dash lights came back on.
this morning going to work i lost my dash lights again.
i havnt checked the fuses yet, but ive lost both my brake and reverse lights:confused:

iam thinking i have a problem with the dash light feed, maybee shorting out and taking the fuse out and iam betting reverse and brake lights are off the same fuse.find out tomorrow.
