No heater plug light p38 diesel

hi my p38 diesel has developed a fault where the heater light on the dash doesnt illuminate so car doesnt start at all but cranks fine
anyone had this problem?
im about to tear my hair out as car is for sale!!!!

have a look in fuse box, it prob be a fuse..

been there and checked them all think am gonna have to have the fusebox out to check for corrosion

Have you checked glow plug relay(its the one between battery and engine fuse box) if you have RAVE check it up on that.

yeah mate checked it and tried another one on too

-engines not immobilized is it cos becm might need re sync.
-does the light not come on at all or just intermittently.
-fuel pump relay ok?
-glow plugs ok?
I'd check all these then to try and narrow it down

Have you checked the 80 amp fuse that resides near the Glow plug relay?
There has been another thread on here with the same problem, turned out to be the fuse

hi the heater light doesnt come on at all, checked fuses all ok relays workin fine,
cracked injector and cranked, no diesel.
put live to stop on injection pump, in tank pump runs, heater plugs work and starts fine but not without the live, when running the brake servo pump doesnt run, abs, traction and fuel injection light stay on and auto gearbox is lazy when driven, it would seem that its lost power to brakes, heaters,and fuel pump and causing gearbox to be lazy changing and not kicking down. could this all be linked to immobiliser?
need to get it on the computer i think unless anyone has any ideas???

hi, loosened injector pipe and cranked engine over, no diesel came out of injector pipe, i then took a live wire direct to the stop solonoid on the back of the injector pump, thus opening the stop valve and it started no probs but obviously wont run when live is taken back off the pump again

So basically you by passed fuel pump relay( and glow plug relay which is also needed to start indirectly)and you've also let air out of injector and it started.So its either fuel pump relay and glow plug relay faulty,but you said you already checked them or becm needs resync.
I'd disconnect battery, reconnect it and resync key cos it sounds like the becm isn't talking to ecm.Unless someone else has a better idea
