I have heard of the gear being welded to the shaft, not what i would recomend but it has been done before.
No drive at all!!!

Just look at it this way ... you are working hard to put money back into the economy and thus you will be helping the taxpayers to stump up for Sir Fred's pension of £700,000 a YEAR for life, and he's only 50 years old!
He's the bastard who caused RBS to go bust.
I wouldn't give him a pension - I would give him a 15 year jail sentence.
Meantime in your Landy, adopt the scheme of LUBE LUBE LUBE, coupled with gentle smooth driving, and your dodgy bits will last longer. You don't need to drive like snail, but you can drive SMOOOOOOTHLY.
