No chassis no.

Just noticed my Lightweight has no chassis number. It's Ex Royal Marines and steel wise is in fantastic nick really. The chassis is so good I believed it to be a replacement "in service", but does the lack of chassis no. confirm this? There is just a 4 digit number on the dumb iron ................and under some paint at the rear, the remains of a sticker.
