Behind dash I have a bullet block with lots of mainly white wires exiting, see attached. My gut feeling is they are redundant and weren't labelled at tear down. Can some kind soul confirm?
Also, can that just be left if redundant or is the exposed bullet pin live and likely to cause a fire??!

Festive greetings to you all.

The rule of thumb is 'pins to power' Think of a domestic plug. The pin on your block 'should' (you can never discount PO bodgery) not be live. Have you a diesel or petrol model? White with a black trace is fuel stop solenoid on a diesel. The others (the white wires) should be switch live, only live when the ignition is on. The block will be fine left as it is but you could put some insulation tape over it for piece of mind if you wanted to.
