I know people that have had both and gone back to a ffrr. They do a lot more offroad kit for the sport tho. but they are very cramped in the drivers seat compared to the ffrr

yep the sport is definately smaller in comparison with the l322.

the seating is alot smaller and the controls are laid out more like a cockpit of a plane.

some may prefer the sport. better handling of course but not as luxurious, hence why the sport is cheaper ! lol

plus you see too many sports on the road now a days ! haha

well i love my 4.4 petrol engined L322. better on fuel than my classics ever was. more power, comfort and space. its like a 7 series on stilts lol

What effect did the remap have on power/smoothness/MPG? Which remap did you go for?

Thanks!

Hi,

didnt have a remap, i chose the plug in chip type device. as i liked the fact i could adjust the power when i wanted and i could take it off if i ever sold my car, and it was half the price of a remap.

since installing it my MPG was about the same, but the engine was a lot more responsive, the gears changed sooner and there are less kick downs. A much better drive since adding the chip.

and it was only £100 :p

but you cant be flooring it all the time as it adds more BHP and it will only kill the gearbox even quicker ! haha

I had the chance, for work, to test both the RRS and FFRR. To be very honest and if I like its lines, the RRS is a "poor's man" version FFRR. The interior does not feel right, it feel cheap compare to the FFRR. Both model I had were High-End Press Car from LR.

Now there is a Huge difference in Price between a RRS and a FFRR, at least here in Japan, and I can understand why many people will choose the RRS, but personally I would rather put the RRS money into a Disco4 if I cannot afford a FFRR.

hey hippo, just to let you know i got the hawkeye now, so if you need a light put out or diagnosed give me a shout

Cheers mate, very kind of you

Iv also got the "all comms" pc based diognostics kit
But would be intresting to see what different settings each one will do from each other
:)

I'll probably get banned for saying this, but - does anybody agree that the spiritual successor to the P38 is really the Disco III? The P38 although very comfortable and well equipped for it's day was nevertheless still quite an understated vehicle, like the original classic. Then it all went Blingtastic with the L322, inside and out.... meanwhile along comes the Disco III, not too much bling, lost the tonka toy looks of the Disco I and II, and very capable on and off road just like a RR.....

When my P38 finally proves too old and troublesome to own (at the moment I think that will be rather sooner than I'd hoped!) I think I will be looking towards Disco III rather then FFRR. The sport doesn't even warrant a mention......sorry.....

Cheers,

Jerry

The Disco III and the RRS are the same under the frock, either would be preferable to the small lorry that is the L322. Just one thing to bear in mind, most serious work requires the body shell to be lifted off, fecking ridiculous:mad:

I think the sport has a sophisticated front steering/suspension system puts me off have fun fixing it.

I had a P38 and loved it but being a 4ltr it was a bit too thirsty. Personally I can't stand the RR Sport, like the nasty Porsche Cayenne it seems like a contadiction in terms to me. Is it a 4x4 off roader or a sports car? Equally the new Evoque just looks like a toy. The RR Sport and Evoque are for "townies" who want a status symbol and who have no intention of their cars ever going anywhere near mud or dirt. I upgraded my P38 to an L322 Vogue TD6 and I love it. Watch out for the nasty BMW electrics though which are over complicated and can be unreliable.

I'd rather have a classic at the moment (already got a 90 and a disco), but I'd go for a disco 3 over a RRS. The L322 just isn't up my street at all! :)

Was at the lights next to a RRS TD6 last week - I cannot believe the awful din from the engine at idle - London taxis are quieter - surely they can't all be like that?
