Just been told a very smart 110XS was stolen from yesterday's Newbury 4x4 cum Pikey Show. It was parked in the field parking whilst the Rozzers were in the show checking vendor stock for stolen goods. Really, one can not make this up.

In other news, more Landies stolen from train station car parks...five over the past four weeks in Berkshire, Hampshire and Surrey. The Police confirming the thieving scrotes arrive with breakdown trucks, load the Tratter and off they go. Stay away from train station car parks people...

Or, and far more preferable, the thieving sh!tes stay at home, educate themselves and stop stealing other people's hard earned Land Rovers. To be frank, I'm so disillusioned with the Land Rover sector of constant thefts, constant need for high levels of security, frequent concern if my Land Rover's still going to be there when I return I'm thinking of selling. I have four friends who are in the same boat :(

I know what you mean.mine is getting parked in some country lanes lately while the mrs is feeding horses. Always leaves the rear ifor tail gate up so if some one does “move it” it will keep banging & make a noise.
Thing is all things will walk if some one wants it

This is true, but not to the extent that these thieving fcukers 'alf inch our Land Rovers...I know of no other period vehicle ownership that suffers to such extreme. Worse, if we're honest, Land Rovers are nothing special they're just great all round trundle about bumbling buses...which to our rose tinted eyes is perfect. But, they're far too easy to steal and strip parts.

Off now to load the Purdey Sporter and modify the Bisley mines with full shells...:)
 
I alarmed my truck diesel tank the other day as it was full & in a known fuel theft area. Forgot to remove it. Scared the fitter when he removed cap.
( fishing line into tank,held in place by the cap. then line under walk way & up to back of cab.on the end of the line is a load of nuts & washers which fall & wake you up) you can’t see this method even with a torch. I won’t rig the blank fire up yet

I remember seeing the warnings in lro in the 90's. Owners will spend thousands on bling but wont fit a propper alarm.

Over the years we've seen loads taken from train stations.
 
I think some owners assume that because this is a Land Rover event that their pride and joy is safe parked at the event. But the event has grown and attracts people from different sections of society, including thieves. The owner can be away from the vehicle for several hours, yet the thieves can have it away in minutes.

I’m gutted for the owner. I hope it is found safely.
 
Most of the ones reported on Landywatch either have no extra security "it had the alarm and immobiliser" or the the owner doesn't reply when asked what security they had on it.
 
I heard that there is a team that communicates via mobile phones.
One stays near your vehicle. Another follows you about, to alert if the owner returns.
The one near the vehicle then guides the breakdown truck in to the correct location.
Vehicle gone….
The motto here is……if you keep seeing a familiar face, you may be being followed and anyone seeing a recovery vehicle should be very suspicious and alert an official.
 
This happened up norf anorl. Think it was a scottish lr event. Each year one vehicle stolen from the visitors car park. They drove it out. Its not like they're difficult to nick or stuck for choice. Often done with another vehicle following which the thieves used to drive in.
