Hi everybody, I've recently bought a 2003 V6 freelander sport es, and had it converted to LPG, some may say I'm mad, but I prefer to think of it as a project! It's been a godsend in the recent snow as well.
Anyway I've had the cambelt and water pump done, all going fine with the conversion so far, I've had / got a couple of niggles with the windscreen wipers, one stopped working in the cold when I tried to use it when it was stuck to the windscreen. So I've stripped the cover off and the ball joint had come apart and the top piece had gone underneath, so I've placed it back on the ball and tested the wipers for an hour and all seems fine.
2 questions -
1. should the two pieces of the ball joint be permanently attached, as the one wiper that didn't stop working also lifts off the ball, so not sure if this is by design, or wear and tear and I should replace the mechanism?
2. does anybody know what the plastic screw and housing that clamp down the cover / skirt over the wiper mechanism and motor are called or what their part number is? the skirt is not as tight as it could be against the windscreen as these screws got damaged and I would like to replace them
thanks,
Paul
