hi mates,

i have a slight problem with the taillights of our fendy

today my wife an i were on a ride in the dark, when a driver behind us (we stopped at a red light) knocked on the window and asked us to switch on our taillights. I was a bit surprised, cause the driving lights were on

we stopped on the side and had a look. only the lights low in the bumper were on - my wife is sure about, that she saw the lights right and left in the body before (on another day).

but i am sure, that the driving lights are only the ones in the bumper and the body lights are for fog lights and rear driving lights

please can someone tell me whats right? cause we had a little fight about this

cheers

michael

Tail lights are in the bumper with the brake lights and indicators

Fog lamps and reverse lamps are in the higher pair of lights in the body

Didn't they put the tail lights a bit higher on the face lift model?

Is that rel to the thread? Possibly. Possibly not...

Facelift tail lights are in the bumper corner.

If you look up 'My Freelander' on Google there is a link on how to modify the early lights to bring the brake light up higher and the indicators.

Just about to start modifying my rear lights, have now got all the parts needed.
So it will look like this once done

Body: reverse/ fog, tail
Bumper: indicator/ stop, tail

Just waiting for the rain to stop

on my pre facelift one I fitted another bulb holder with ones for twin filament so it had side lights there as well as fog lights and it is perfectly legal as I asked to MOT station and I got my extra bulb holders from a scrap yard .
