Hi there. As a total newbie (both to the forums and to Greenlaning) I thought I'd ask if anyone is going landing on Sunday 1st June in the Kent/E.Sussex area.
I'm keen to give the new 110 a workout and would like to meet up with some local Landy-heads. My son (10yrs) is mad keen on the idea of laneing, but I've no idea of the protocols/etiquette etc. I've seen that most of you lanes have CB radios (as does my 110) but to be honest I've no idea how to use or in what circumstances I'd need it.
Landy is equipped with Warn winch, roll cage, mahoosive tyres etc so should be OK for most lanes.
I'm categorically NOT up for some high octane mud spewing off road fest. I'll stick to off road sites for that kind of fun.
Any takers or advice gratefully received.

welcome.

Sounds like a good attitude, I'm sure you will find some people in your area to go out with.

Good luck.

Ad,
I'm near Tunbridge Wells. Liking the idea of a posse :)
Bear in mind though that I am a COMPLETE newbie (to Laning) so have absolutely no idea what the crack is, although I guess it's fundamentally driving down a lane and trying not to die - much like going to work?

Just realised I can't do this Sunday, following weekend should be a goer tho, and will give us time to assemble a few folk.

Not sure if there are many lanes down TW way, so you may have to head towards Maidstone/medway.

Anyone else interested?

Maidstone/Medway area is fine with me.

I'm fine for next Sunday (can't do Saturday - I have to slog through a huge list of DIY jobs for SWIMBO as penance for buying the 110)

The more the merrier I say.

Welcome Zed, CBs are used when your off roading so you can hear whats going on around you, maybe a warning of a large hole to avoid or a horse coming the other way and you need to pull over and switch off, ect, or if your leading you can relay whats goin on to the people behind you, also used for **** taking if you do something silly lol

Thanks for the info V8, much appreciated. All I need now is for someone to show me how the damn thing works!!

If you're up for it I'm free on Sundays for Greenlaning and would really appreciate someone showing me the ropes.

I'm near Tunbridge Wells so anywhere in Kent, East Sussex or as far as Guildford is good for me at the moment.

There are some great starter lanes starting in bookham and ending up near leith hill close to drorking, its a few hours of lanes, if i get some spare time at the weekend will give you a shout, do you have a CB yet ?

Excellent stuff. I'm free on Sunday but can't get away on Saturday - DIY duties beckon. The 110 has a CB fitted - a Maycom em27. I'll try and find a user manual and see if I can figure it out. Looking forward to a possible meet on Sunday.

I doubt you will need a manual they are simple to use lol

Im up for coming out, Im in Sevenoaks, there are a few easy ones the other side of Twells near Crowborough however there are also some over there you will want to steer well clear of if your not experienced in it.

Edit: Wont be able to come out this weekend though, but next time if you guys are about

Am also in Kent (Canterbury) and looking to hook up with some people who want to go Green Laning - please get in touch!

Hi guys,

I am in Canterbury and looking for someone to do some green lanes.

I have done a few lanes in Kent, but it is always risked to go on your own.

My car is almost standard and I am a fan of true Land Rover spirit. If you can pass without leaving marks, you should do it.

Please get in touch!

Hello Canterbury guys,

I'm not too far from you, in Eythorne. I've done a fair few lanes down here and would be keen if you guys fancy organising a trip out.

You can get a pass for pilgrims way, from Kent county council.
It's free takes less than two weeks look on the councils web site for the application
Hope this helps

I'm searching for more info on this, but cannot find anything.

Can you give me a bit more info?

Mike, I am going away for a week tonight so will be in touch when I get back! What landy have you got?
