Hi, My 04 freelander 1.8 had its head gasket replaced by a main dealer two years ago, the car has since done another 20,000 miles

Yesterday we tried to start it after it sitting idle for 2 weeks. It transpires cylinder 4 is ( was hydrolocked). I haven't seen the car yet.

This seems like more than the usual ( !) HGF issue, has it dropped a liner?. Any ideas, before I get the head taken off. Its not like a usual HGF issue

Gasket has gone between a waterway and bore. Water has seeped into bore. causng it to hydrolock

Was this diagnosed by the AA/RAC or similar? as they often get it totally wrong

Could be just inlet manifold gasket waterway is that end I think. Seen several head gasket diagnosis that were just the inlet gasket. Garages frequently condemn head gasket because they are so prone, when sometimes it isn't. Worth a look first before ripping the head off.
