Just fitted some black mod's with some insa tyres on and it looks great however with these wider wheels ive noticed that the nsf wheel is sticking out from the wheelarch about 1 inch the wing is straight and all the other wheels seem fine it also drives like a complete dog especially over 60 the steering is shocking I was going to check the steering box nut thingy but thats as far as my mechanical talent goes before fitting these wheels i hadnt driven it over 30mph up and down my road so i didnt realise it was so bad would getting the tracking/alingment done help or will this be more serious ? its a 92 200tdi
cheers

hmm, also got a 200tdi and some 255/70/16's isa's on and its only the n/s front that scrubbs on a lock, the steering will go funny as you will have alot more flex in the tyre plus less tarmac/tyre contact. mine is booked in for monday for the tracking but as regards your wheels sticking out of the arch am stumped? you sure you got the same width all round? silly question but just a though?

are ye absolootly 100% sure yer wing's straight? Could be an optical illusion;) :D Just mind on when it comes MOT time as that's a fail if yer tyres are stickin' oot and not covered:eek:

think yer allowed an inch arnt yer??
try and park it on a complete flat surface and have another look, it could be leaning??

Thanks for all your suggestions guys ! i took it down to my local tyre fitters and they did the tracking and such for me they had to use heat to free it off to make the adjustments said it hadnt been done for some years. Driving it now is much much better there is still play in the steering but it is wandering alot less reckon if i try tighting the steering box up a bit we should be just about there. The wheel is still sticking out from the arch im not going to worry to much about it just going to use it as an excuse for some wider arches ! now just got the spongy brakes and dodgy electrics to sort
thanks for the help
