new to the land rover

Hi ii've never owned a land rover but have decided to take the plunge and purchase either a defender or a discovery. I am currently waiting on the sale of my motorbike but once done will have £2000 to spend. It will be used for the carrying of my fishing gear and the occasional trip to work. Im still undecided as to which to purchase so any advice from the forum will be much appreciated. My brother in law has a series 2a land rover which looks good but not sure if i want the same.

The 2a and 3 is the bestest looking one in my book with the headlamps in the wings and the recessed grille. With 2 grand you might have to do a bit of looking to get a good'un.

should be able to get an M or N reg disco for that if you want comfort , or if you want a bit of fun and own some spanners , get a 90 , should be able to get a late TD or a very early TDI for that

Wot type o' fushin' you into? I'd be goin' fur a 110. you can kip in the back if doin' all nighters wether it be river, 'lake' or sea anglin'( from the shore of course)
