hi all, im new to off roading. my disco 97 300tdi is still box standard. What should i buy as a starter to start off roading etc.
A service kit and a search engine.
i,ve seen all sorts off stuff that i like and want. just wondering what i really need as a biginner like lift kits, bumpers etc. I cant seem to find thread.
Proper recovery points, some friends to go with that have a clue ... seriously.
Don't buy anything till you get a bit more clue of what off-roading you want to do, it'll save you buying different stuff later.
yu dont need any of that stuff. if yu want to spend yu money, recovery points and breather extensions. Never go out on your own.
u need to learn how to drive a standard disco offroad properly 1st then think about upgrades, just cos u add some stuff dont make you a contender for the camel trophy
Whereabouts in the world are you?
As Paul D said; you absolutely need to go out with a group of experienced people and get a good idea as to what green laning etc is all about before you start diving into purchases. And never go laning alone. Ever.
Where are you, roughly?
Keep an eye out in the green-laning section for meets that are closest to you and ask to tag along. You'll learn more and enjoy it immensely with the knowledge that you won't be stuck in some bog on your own .. LZ never leaves a Landy behind ..![]()
Im live in derby, was thinking about doing one of those course's to get the feel and confidence. need to learn when to use hi and low etc. it will be a good experience for me i think.
Theres a couple of trips out.....ours involves cake though
