Hi, Name is , oh OK I'll let you guys guess
I am a small independent garage owner specialising in Diagnosis and Repairs to Mercedes and other vehicles.
Last Land Rover was a Defender 110 TD5, sold that around 3 years ago 35,000 mile ex mountain rescue. I'd always wanted one, then got fed up with it, a very capable vehicle but I liked the creature comforts of my previous 2 Range Rovers and 3 Discovery 1 TDI's. I don't go rock crawling up mountains. I did like the TD5 Engine in the Defender
Last week i decided I needed a vehicle capable of towing more than a Mini on a trailer that weighs nothing, I don't really need my Peugeot Expert Van, which owes me absolutely nothing after 4 years, the Van is in VGC 2005 MY so I swapped it with a customer of mine for his 1999 Discovery 2 TD5
I'm under no illusion that this particular Disco will need money spent, including possibly a full galvy chassis in a coupleof years, tbh I may well buy a better Disco 2 by then, but I can just get in and use this one for at least 8 months after doing some initial and not too big repairs see below.
It has MOT until Feb next year, immediate needs are Steering Box drippy drippy from main seal, plus likely a few ball joints or steering joints, perhaps a set of shocks might even treat it to Front Discs and Pads. I'll give it my usual All Fluids and Filters Service which I do to anything I just got
Obviously as a Garage Business I have fully equipped workshop and a Paint Booth and nothing else to do in my spare time due to family circumstances so I can crack on later down the line when I finish a few other almost finished projects.
I guess that's enough waffle from me now, will have a good look around the Forum later on
