Hi all

when jacking up my 90 to fit my new wheels today i took time to take a look at my springs. i noticed that the top of my springs are rusted. im looking at new springs and and there are standard duty and heavy duty. im using my landrover for heavy loading, crossing fields, dirt roads and some greenlaning if i have time to my self. can anybody recomend any springs or a speciffic springs i should get?

also if i was to put a 2" lift on my 90 would i need to replace my radius arms or is that just for 5" lifts. i noticed some lift kits dont come with radius arms and was wondering if standard arms would be fine on a 2" lift?

thanks in advance

Ben

hahahaha what is it with this britpart. this is my first landy and when ever i hear about britpart its alwayse getting torn to shreds ha ha ha whats that all about? :)

if doing your springs etc you should seriously consider ploybushing the thing as well. Radius arms will help your steering feel more natural. I would recommend terrafrima they are extremly tough and good quality.

hahahahah guess ill just have to read into brit/****part now. cheers for the heads up on that one guys :D

thanks alot fro this link. i didnt realise it could be such a pain, much apreciated. im loking at putting things like cement mixer and generator and gardening stuff in the back, and maybe if i have to shift just out the gardens and stuff like that, or even bricks. would standard height heavy duty springs do the job :) i dont want to cause any unnecessary damage to the poor thing.

cheers for the replys everyone :)

although britpart are supposed to be ****e, the supergaz shocks have either 24 month warranty, or 50,000 miles, if they do end up buggering up, you can always claim a new set from warranty, i must say after fitting mine, with HD spring set, it feels much more positive on the black stuff, alot less body roll too compared with the tired old LR ones that were on it, and they do give a noticeable body lift.

a BP warranty is worthless - they usually claim you have been abusing the item, or will take so long to provide a refund or replacement that you give up and go buy an alternative

looks like ill be deffo steering clear of britpart then. i wonder if they ever read the things people say on teh forum about them hahaha how would they take it haha

according to lro magazine this month the boss of britpart competed off road and took the replacement of parts to be the most important part of a vehicle, wonder if he ever used his own crap:D
