does anyone have any idea how much its going to be and will it affect older discovery tax prices or is it just newer cars?dont want to have to get a bankloan to tax my car!!

As of yet any pre March 2001 vehicles are unaffected by large tax hikes. Might go up £5 or somthing close on the old tax disc.

Just had my renewal notice through today for both of my Disco's (K plate 200TDI & R plate 300TDI) ........ 6 months £101.75 ..... 12 months £185.00

So from that extract I just read from Redhand does that mean that 1998 onward is going to have that tax hike or 2001 onward?

Today's Guardian predicts that the government will u-turn on this, but not yet, as it's too politically sensitive at the moment.
