Evening,

I noticed earlier that the bottom of my rad is "drooping" so im not sure it has too long left in it.

Gets up to temp fine, heater blows hot, hits around 95c working quite hard, resting around 80c - 87c.

It is pretty highly tuned, often driven hard and often used off road, sometimes in high heat 30c+

Best replacment? Go for an OEM rad or splash the cash and get Allisport?

Hmmmmmm that is very cheap... Feels almost too cheap. Not heard of that brand before, i shall do some digging!

Other concern is I don't want it to "overcool" and ruin my heater! lol

Bloody hell I've just googled reviews and it ain't good reading! Chap at work had direnza one on his cupra and said it was quality but...

Lot of people saying they're identical in pics to cheap Chinese ones. Id go oem mate, td5s run cool anyway don't they?

Wait,.......................... you have a heater?

I have a outside air to inside cab transfer fan, just in case the flappy things are not good enough! :confused:
 
Dunno what the td5 was fitted with originally - if it was copper and brass like the tdi models then they are worth getting recored. Much more efficient and long lasting than the plastic and aluminium crud available nowadays.

Radiator recore - when I had mine done - was about £100. If you can find a leaking original radiator and recore it, it will likely be better and longer lasting than a plastic and ali one.

I got mine as a busted rad for £25 I think and spent £100 recoring it :)
 
Get the allisport one, then if your heater does go a bit weak get the allisport heater matrix too
 
Probably not "worth it" from a performance point of view as most td5's don't seem to struggle on the standard radiators but the allisport stuff does look better built for longevity and it is very nice looking stuff too only you know what that's worth to yourself
