bit the bullet and stripped the front axle , looks like the inner seals need replaced , bearings are fine , needs some gaskets to eliminate the overused gold sealant , can also benefit from a handful of new nuts n bolts , Got the case painted and springs cleaned ready for a freshen up. Disc conversion proved to be stubborn and the caliper carrier bolts or should that be torx cap screws are refusing to shift . Had to buy a set of torx bits to get one big enough to fit the screws , Ive always been a bit apprehensive of doing these swivels but not ive stripped them its a pretty simple process and straight forward job to take them apart .. Putting them back together might be another story . New swivels are poised for fitment.

Is it worth fitting a set of caster adjustment wedges to add a bit of caster and improve steering stability ? I dont mind the caster adding a bit of weight to the steering, the p38 box should make it manageable..

hope to get the front axle built up this week and back under the chassis and move onto getting the engine attached to the box and back in the chassis ..

I bought a 90 pedal assembly complete with servo and master cylinder to see what the fitment would be like in the series bulkhead . slot in the bulkhead would need lengthening and diameter of servo s a bit on the big side for fitment and for level of boost , so thinking a hybrid of series servo pedal assembly series servo and 90 master .. and keep my fingers crossed .

My buddy with the 32 Ford hinted that he would probably be buying the rear axle I rebuilt and loaned him on spec That will be a chunk of doe toward the stainless system, if not buy it outright .

The wife is pretty excited about this one and looking forward to doing some off road courses .. Hopefully she will see it through and enjoy the car ..

Part of the plan , same as the 109 is to build this as an adventure camper , but with the roof tent mounted to a custom built trailer and the trailer housing a pull out kitchen and lots of storage space .. Thats a long way off though.. need to get the landy built first

I hate timing belts, paid a reputable company to change a 200 TDI belt back in the 00's, four weeks later it broke whilst towing a caravan in the middle of a small village it was a nightmare. When the garage got the belt off it was the original so they had charged me but not changed it, havent been back to a garage since do everything myself.
