We (my son and I) have just bought a series 3 88 inch to work on together ready for him to drive initially off-road then on road once he turns 17. It's had some restoration carried out - galv chassis, bulkhead with no vents and has had engine changed to 2.25 NA diesel having been built with 2.25 5 bearing petrol. Needs complete brake overhaul and the doors restoring.

Vehicle was first registered in 1982. Due to the work on the bulkhead there is no VIN plate, registration document bears a 17 digit code (hence how I know it was built with a petrol engine). Could anyone with a vehicle of the same age please share with me a picture of their VIN place so I can get a replacement?

Thanks in advance

Great. Hope you can now get it road registered etc. Looks quite a tidy vehicle. If you insure and he goes on the policy it shouldn't be too expensive; a lot of insurance companies have age restrictions. New doors are about £145 with glass. Brake parts are not too expensive. Good luck with the project.

i was in paddocks in matlock this week, they had a notice at the parts desk selling off slightly warehouse damaged series door tops and skins. might be worth giving them a call.

You can get correct style new ID plates from Pegasus Parts, see web site (£10.00 or thereabouts).
