Just checked, nothing obvious that has been either tampered or disconnected other than the converting from air suspension to spring.

Abs modulator etc is all still there and no mods to the shuttle valve have been done so the car is pretty much as standard as you're gonna get excluding the air suspension now being spring.

Gonna bite the bullet and buy a nanocom when I get paid so as to check and learn if it's possible to disable output signals using nanocom.
That's the only thing I can think of.

If the lights didn't light on the dash when it was MOTed than the operative would not be able to tell whether the car was fitted with it or not, in fact he would be forced to think it didn't So his issuing a ticket would be correct, by virtue of not seeing lights at all.

It could be possible that a previous owner has got rid of all of the ABS/TC/HDC stuff and was happy just running around with it as a normal 4WD with no TC or Diff lock. Weird, but possible.
Have you spoken to the farmer about all this to gauge his response, i.e. evasive, hostil, bothered, not bothered, etc?
Have you looked aroung the ABS bits and pieces to see if stuff has been removed or left in place?

Not spoken to the farmer yet, to be fair when I bought the car he did say his wife was going through last stages of cancer etc so last thing I want to do is hassle him when he already has enough on his plate,he's well into his 60s so I wouldn't think he would have a scooby about anything being tampered in the car.

As for the MOT I recon with him being a farmer maybe he has friends in a local garage or so and that's how the car went through MOT, there's no way that a car as heavy as a discovery 2004 model wouldn't be equipped with ABS.

Like I said, gonna bite the bullet and order a nanocom and I'm gonna get under the car and see if I can find the CDL and if my car by any chance has it, if it does I'll do the linkage mod and live with it.
Getting nanocom will also allow me to monitor the abs system and see if any hubs need replaced or not.

Yes we are lucky in the UK that modifications to vehicles are still allowed although IVA makes it far more difficult

As explained elsewhere the MOT could be legal.
Take your point about the farmer.
But do have a look for all the ABS gubbins.

If there is no sign of the connections for CDL on the transfer box, you still have an option available. Ashcroft Transmissions can sell you the kit to transform your transfer box with the correct internals and casing, together with the linkages to make it work.

Cheers for that man, handy to at least have the option if it isn't there.
Wouldn't want to chance a bad winter without either diff lock or TC
