Fixing wiper system on friends early 90,a wheel box had seized which blew the fuse. He then replaced the fuse with a much heaver one the numpty. Result a major meltdown.
With just about everything replaced I now have a working wiper system again, however the wipers now park in the upright position at the other end of the sweep. Wrong motor unit ? It did come with an overly long drive wire.
Anyone had the same problem?

Have you got the wheel boxes in the right way up (if I recall correctly the drive flex should feed in to the top of the box and not the bottom) as that will change the direction of operation

I had that problem when i fitted a new bulkhead it turned out the wheel boxes where upside down as Kwakerman has suggested.

try refitting park locater pin white bit on cog in the motor they can go in 3 places if i recall to alter park location

other thought is have you bought a left hand drive wiper motor (if such a thing exists)?

Motor was supplied by the owner and with it came a new rack wire that is at least a foot longer than the original which makes me think it may be for a different vehicle even though the invoice says its for a 90.

When I rebuilt my wiper system my replacement rack was also too long (Bearmach IIRC) and needed cutting down to length, seem to remember using a grinder because it was tough stuff.
