Hi all!

After buying my 2003 110 utility (imported from ROI, early "utility" format, 5 seats, solid partition for back section for dog) I have completed a number of tasks and decided to finally become a member and reckoned this was the best forum!

To date I have:

-Replaced wiper boxes, drive cable and park switch- wipers now work like a dream!

-replaced all glow plugs- actually quite easy with small socket wrench and deep socket

-replaced starter contacts using a kit so gone from erratic and not starting to perfect starting every time and not a difficult job...only lower two bolts were in place so just replaced them!

- dried out oil from Ecu and replaced injector loom and rocker cover gasket- again, quite easy with pics

- wired up trailer socket

- fitted kicker 4" speakers under dash- big improvement and these fit in exactly using spacers provided

- had recon gearbox fitted (not me..no lift so got local mechanic to do it!

- replaced coloured indicators with clear lenses

- replaced head lots with crystal from bolt on bits

-fitted snorkel safari rip-off type and breather pipes to diffs, transfer and gearbox using home made kit with airline and manifold from eBay-dead easy and cheap

So thank you all for the information gleaned already.

I will now upload photos etc on all work done, this forum has been brilliant. I have no mechanic training but with a socket set etc. everything has been straightforward using the wisdom here about pitfalls and ease of tasks!

Can't decide whether or not to remove partition behind rear seats thus giving longer area for load, but I'd lose the dirty dog area in the back!

My head's done in because every time I try to post a photo with the iPad safari crashes. Here's the reply minus the pic. Anyway, thanks for the welcomes, forgot to mention my other jobs! Steering shaft length adjustment bolt needed tightening after having had play in the steering for months, as recommended by MOT guy. Did this and sheared it off! Bought the whole shaft with UJS for about 40 quid and set to replacing it. Hardest bit was separating the UJS from steering column and steering box but achieved eventually using lots of wd40 and a long steel wedge bar. Refitted twice to get the steering wheel centred and it's great! Bit hairy driving for a day or two with no bolt but couldn't see how either end could detach as bolts sit in recess at top and bottom! Also changed centrifugal/ rotor filter today after oil change, 5 min job and thankfully neither 10mm bolt was seized. Did them up,to only 9nm torque after reading stories of what a faff it was to remedy bolt threads shearing!
