I take it everyone still has the hump with me? I do own a Land Rover really (even though you didn't believe me!). We thought it would be funny to come on and wind some of you up - which it was - but we didn't want to upset anyone.

I'm selling my land rover this month anyway.

Tom.

Need the money at the moment. Its tax exempt as well - i'd been after one for years then when I got one I have to get rid of it - Typical !

tell me about it.. ive spent a bit on mine recently, in fact so much so that i cant afford to sell it.... if its a good one though might be worth stickin it on a sorn till your a bit more flush.....

It's a 1972 Range Rover with a Defender body on a shortened chassis. It's got a 3.5 V8 on petrol and LPG (although I've never had it running properly on LPG - nor have I bothered trying much). It's got a 2" lift - dislocating cones and kinked hockey sticks. Onbaord compressor with a 9L air tank. Power point at the rear - as the batteries are under the passenger seat. Wiring for front and rear winches, but no winches. And no roll cage though. Anacondas all round - great in the mud!

The **** that sold it to me said it had a Detroit in the rear - but by the time I'd got it home it had chewed itself up and spat itself out - only to find it was a standard diff held together with a self-tapper. I was proper ****ed off. It needs ARBs but they are too expensive for me. It was also bright orange when I got it - and covered in horrible stickers that were supposed to be funny! Even my bad jokes were better.

That money won't even look at a busted gearbox on a Toysplatta, local farmer just had a quote of £5k for a replacement for his unbustable (ha ha) Landbruiser. It didn't cope with hauling astock trailer up and down the hills for much over 100k miles.

That's not really the point... on the 'highway of life' you are a Land Cruiser... whereas the rest of us, yeah even Ardnut, are way better off.
