New Member - Southampton/Winchester

Hello All,

I have been a distant thread reader for a while, and now i think i have a problem that might need solving.
So i'm introducing myself - Im Michael, from winchester so it would be great if anyone local wants to make themselves known for some local advice, meet up.

I recently (3 months ago) managed to semi-convince the missus it was a good idea and bought a 2012 110 crew-cab 2.2. A defender has been my dream vehicle since being taken shooting as a small boy in a family friends series 3 he use to hand paint in blue and white every year, the smell and the nostalgia immediately capturing my senses. Everytime i hop up into the cab, Im that 10 year old boy again *I didn't get to drive before ; ) but with the biggest smile on my face.

If you see me on the road around Southampton - its dark green with Ifor Canopy, feel free to flash and wave.

*My problem is a loud fan type noise when in high revs that started a couple of days ago, maybe the intercooler hose has split? also water in the drivers footwell when it rains

Welcome to the forum! I lived in alresford until recently. Still got family there and in Eastleigh.

You won’t beat the leaks in the Landy, it’s a feature. As for the split hose, it’s generally accompanied by a slight loss in performance and a whooshing noise.
