Hello all my name is Michael and I live in Grantham Lincs. I am new to this site and am after a bit of advice from all you as you will know more than me, I am looking for a defender 90 for some weekend fun off and on road, found a E-reg 90 on ebay with a GMC 6.2l V8 diesel, looks very nice and after owning a 5.7l V8 Corvette this doesn't bother me but would just like a bit help if you know of any reasons why this would be a bad idea.
Thank you

P.S. please see picture.

Hello Trewey, again thanks for your reply, they say its still got a 5 speed Land Rover transmission with uprated diffs ???? haven't checked on ins. yet.
Thanks

the motor weights more. will not start without all glow plugs working, to much torque will rip transmission and rearends out. A new starter if need to replace is 395$ us = 600quid parts pricey and less used parts. How do I know had 1 will i ever own a 6.2 again........... NEVER. you want to have high HP in a defender go with a TD5 and alive tuning will be more reliable and parts are cheaper. You can get 245HP out of it

Thanks Thor1950, maybe its a no go then, Thanks, am on a limited budget for a TD5 but also found a 1989 defender 90 200tdi with 115,000 miles looks nice and tidy and good priced.
