Thanks for letting me join your site!
Here’s my Landy, he's named Ivor after Ivor the Engine!
I originally wanted a late Series 3 as I preferred the old lift up door handles and sliding windows but a few friends recommended I went for the newer 110. It wasn't until I saw Ivor on eBay that I found out the very earliest 110s had the same doors and sliding windows the Series 3 had so I could have the best of both worlds!
A friend called him Ivor, which was supposed to be derogatory but I quite liked the name and it fits the old farmer image :)
He’s an ex farm vehicle and was sat up on a farm for almost a decade, apparently the farmer kept him for sentimental reasons.
The trader I bought him from got him as a part ex from the farmer for a new Land Rover and was going to scrap him. The trader decided to stick him through an MoT which to his amazement he passed after a bit of tinkering.
The Trader stuck him on eBay, which is where I bought him in February last year.
I went with a Land Rover expert who told me the chassis was solid and although he looked a mess the structure was sound.
The last pic is from the eBay add, he was covered in algae!
He’s had a lot of tidying up done, lots of lights (yes, I got a little carried away!), new painted wheels, Land Rover leather seats, new rear canopy, new "old style" bakalite number plates, Carpet, Alpine CarPlay stereo and a good bath!
At the moment I have a 2.5NA diesel which I’m replacing soon with the 19J. The 2.5NA gets 29mpg but is painfully slow!

Welcome to form :) A nice looking 110. I also like the lift up handles and sliding windows on my 1987 90!
Less chance of them breaking off..... :D
Indeed, as well as the cool retro thing there’s not much to go wrong with the old handles and windows. That said, when I first got him I had to spend hours with a pack of economy toothbrushes scooping out all the foliage from the window runners!

Quick Q.
What size tyres you got on it?

Love the leather seats
The Leather seats came from another HiCap, the owner didn’t want them.
I’m not sure about the tyre size, I’ll find out for you :)
I was going to put BFGs on as I’ve had them on previous 4x4s (1989 Trooper) but I am not so sure now as I quite like the old farm vehicle look. I think BFGs with their white labels would look a bit too big and loud. I recently had the wheels repainted white, they were silver before and I was told they looked out of place, they do look better now I think.
The tyres do need replacing, they have plenty of tread but they are very old and starting to perish a bit. If you look through the MoTs online until I bought him he’d done 2,000 miles since 2006.
